The property has a wonderful “Provencal” feel to it, solidly built, full of light, with a big country kitchen that leads onto the gravelled terrace to the rear of the property and a double sized sitting room with French windows leading to the spacious front terrace that overlooks the pool area.  We can’t make our minds up whether to talk about “garden” or “land”, it’s that large.  Plus, above the rear terrace, there is an orchard with established fruit trees, roses planted on the terrace below and, to the front of the property, mature trees giving a shaded area to the left of the pool.  At the side of the property, the current owners had their vegetable garden and kept chickens for fresh eggs – they brought their family up in this house – their children must have had a wonderful time – but now find it too big for two people.  The apartment housed one of their grandparents, independent living but still a focal point of family life.  Three generations of family with a property that could accommodate them all happily.
This is just such a flexible property – either a large or multi generation family, two families, friends sharing, owners accommodation plus the ability to have rental income stream, chambres d’hote benefitting from the nearness to the Mediterranean – any of those options make sense.  Plus, it’s a generous property in all senses; generous room sizes, generous outside space, it’s got it all.  The main house has 3 generous bedrooms, the large salon, an open plan kitchen / dining area.  The attached apartment has one bedroom and a lovely large salon with views of the gardens and orchard to the rear and a corner kitchen off to one side.  Jennifer noted that the two storey garage could become even more accommodation if you wished – another apartment, additional living space – possibly with completely independent access… the scope is endless.
Above all, this is a very attractive property.  The front facade with its terrace and three French windows leading onto it, the rear facade, looking up from the gravelled area to the orchard and the hills beyond, it all balances beautifully – and the gardens are a joy.  We both feel that the price is more than reasonable for a property of this size.  It’s clear that this is a much loved family home and we were so very, very pleased when we first saw the property.  We both adored it immediately and, as a detached property, un-overlooked on any side, it has so much to offer.
